ARRIVAL

We have arrived!!!

We are both really tired so there will be no pics or anything elaborate in tonight's post. This is just a quick note to let everyone know we are here safe and loving it here so far!

We arrived and had our ride waiting for us at the airport. He gave us a free extra tour of Miraflores, which is the neighborhood of Lima we will be staying in the next two days. It is the safest and coolest neighborhood in the city.

When Sean and I got settled in our room, it occurred to us that even though it was 11:30 at night, we were hungry and ready to take on Lima! So we got a map from the guy in charge of our hostal, who reassurred us that it is safe to walk at night in this part of town, and went in search of food and water. We bought water at a gas station, got cash at an ATM, and had some really good sandwiches and beers at a little outdoor cafe before coming back. Now we are exhausted and are pumped to start our trip tomorrow!

On the agenda for tomorrow and Thursday: catacombs, cathedrals, museums, markets, casinos, ruins, and lots of aimless adventures!!!
